The Steelers reportedly tried to trade George Pickens during the 2025 NFL Draft and were “laughed at" by other NFL teams.

George Pickens didn't put any pressure on the Pittsburgh Steelers to trade him before being dealt to the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday. Speaking to reporters on Friday for the first time since the deal, Steelers general manager Omar Khan explained that Pickens never requested a trade.

With Pickens now in Dallas, there is a palpable sense of excitement for the Cowboys, whose wide receiver room also features CeeDee Lamb. Pickens is expected to form a dangerous 1-2 punch downfield for the Cowboys' attack that finished the 2024 NFL season with an average of 227.2 passing yards per game.
