Trey Anastasio, Sturgill Simpson and Billy Strings joined the Grateful Dead offshoot for three San Francisco shows celebrating 60 years of Grateful Dead music.

While only two of the original Grateful Dead band members are in Dead & Company, that didn't matter to the 60,000 thrilled fans in Golden Gate Park.

The dedication, held in the Excelsior District where Garcia grew up, kicked off a weekend of celebrations including Jerry Day and three Dead & Company concerts in Golden Gate Park.

A few hundred people gathered Friday to name a tiny San Francisco street after legendary Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia on what would have been his 83rd birthday.
