Friday's highly anticipated weather event is finally here, with Upstate residents stepping outside their homes to take in the region's first snowfall in three years. Although snowfall is projected to only be 1 to 3 inches in total (and upward of 4 inches toward the mountains),

Travel is anticipated to become "very difficult" by the mid to late morning and although much of the snow will move out by midnight, travel impacts will continue through the weekend.

Though predictions are not entirely certain, meteorologists are saying that the area will most likely see mainly snow rather than ice, sleet.

Upstate South Carolina is still under a winter weather storm warning due to Friday's snow, with conditions expected to last until 7 a.m. Saturday.
