U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon ruled Tuesday the Department of Justice can’t release Special Counsel Jack Smith’s report on his investigation into whether President-elect Donald Trump unlawfully withheld White House documents, after Smith suggested the final report could come out later this week.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has issued some wildly indefensible decisions in favor of Donald Trump, the president who appointed her. She singlehandedly stymied the investigation into the president-elect’s theft of classified documents,

"It's not clear to folks like me ... whether she has that jurisdiction," MSNBC legal correspondent Lisa Rubin said Tuesday.
