Four detainees have escaped from a federal immigration detention center in New Jersey, which has been the center of protests since its opening in May and where both a sitting congresswoman and Newark’s mayor have been arrested.

Advocates continue to protest the conditions at Delaney Hall​. Attorneys for the detainees held there are still not being allowed in​.

Some of the allegations from detained immigrants include, sleeping on concrete floors without mattresses or sheets, unable to shower, and denial of menstrual products.
